The Breeders從讓Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) 列入All Time Favourite的一鳴驚人處女專輯《Pod》，到開始在商業面取得成功的《Last Splash》(註：〈Cannonball〉曾打入Billboard現代搖滾榜No.2)，橫跨九年後的復出盤《Title TK》，到現在又讓我們等六年的《Mountain Battles》，一路走來沒讓人失望過，這次仍是找回老搭檔Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsom, Pixies) 製作，四人編制包括姊妹花Kim Deal (主唱、吉他) 與Kelley Deal (主唱、吉他)、Jose Medeles (鼓) 和Mando Lopez (貝斯)，幾乎從開場〈Overglazed〉喔喔喔叫著「I can feel it...」就令人興奮！！！
Steve Albini在此堅持一種非他原創的「All Wave」哲學，那就是所有的聲音必須是類比訊號錄製，不用電腦、不用數位錄音、不用任何現代錄音技術 (no computers, no digital recording, no auto-tuning, or any other mainstays of contemporary production)，總之就是整個production都走傳統路線，這精神可比擬拉斯馮提爾 (Lars von Trier) 的Dogme 95教條，甚至還有Logo呢！「All Wave」曾用在《Title TK》跟《Off You》EP，雖然時光荏苒又過好幾年，《Mountain Battles》仍繼續比照辦理。〈Bang On〉重貝斯催促爬上山，囂吼「I love no one / And no one loves me!」，過癮又生猛，粗糙的有夠帶勁！被連串Lo-Fi力震得精神大振後，令人驚喜的更有末段第九首，以西班牙語發音的〈Regalame Esta Noche〉，小民謠曲風甜美，蟄伏山中的精靈也不過如此！ (映象唱片)

Does It Offend You, Yeah?的音樂被拿來跟Daft Punk、Digitalism、Justice作相提並論，但他們卻是一隊四人Full Band。其首張專輯的名字又是長長的喚作You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into。Does It Offend You, Yeah?的風格也有好幾類：We Are Rockstars和Weird Science這兩首單曲正是那一派Daft Punk / Digitalism / Justice式電音作品；另一單曲Let's Make Out和With a Heavy Heart (I Regret to Inform You)令我想到The Rapture的Dance-Punk；Dawn Of The Dead與Being Bad Feels Pretty Good更是很80年代的Synth Rock聲音，令我想到是The Buggles、A Flock Of Seagulls甚至是Nik Kershaw。(袁智聰)
